” Penceal had better luck with the owners of the Kan Cobra karate school, who wanted to use the auditorium for a tournament. He said sure, and now he has them giving karate classes twice a week to some of his hardest cases. The idea, he said, is to move that discipline into the classroom. “He walked in here knowing no one,” said Richie Rosenblum, a science teacher for 30 years. “He could have brought in new people but he didn’t. He walked in with just his briefcase and whatever bag of tricks were in there. “He’s either crazy or he has a lot of faith in the people in this building. It’s a good building, we just need direction.
